NM Unemployment Rate Unchanged from August

The New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions reported that the unemployment rate remained at 6.6 percent in September.  During the first half of the year, the rate fell for six consecutive months from 8.7 percent in January and has now been steady for two months. 

The national unemployment rate is 9.1 percent. 

September, 2011 job growth increased by .2 percent from September of last year.  Job growth has been steadily gaining since May, 2011.
