Carlsbad-Artesia Top NM City for Private Sector Pay

In a study of private-sector payrolls, the New Mexico Business Weekly reports that the top New Mexico city for private-sector average pay is the Carlsbad-Artesia area.  The average private-sector earning for Carlsbad-Artesia was $40,800, ranking it at No. 78th nationwide.

Albuquerque, New Mexico’s largest city for total payroll, came in at No. 178 with an average annual pay of $36,200.  The top city nationwide was San Jose, California with an average earning of $75,800.  New York City ranked first for total private sector payroll at $445.4 billion in 2009.
